A few days ago, Google, announced the next steps in its Artificial Intelligence (AI) Journey. With its rival, Microsoft looking to integrate ChatGPT into Bing, the announcement wasn’t a surprise to us, as this poses a big threat to the search giant.
“We’ve been working on an experimental conversational AI service, powered by LaMDA, that we’re calling Bard. And today, we’re taking another step forward by opening it up to trusted testers ahead of making it more widely available to the public in the coming weeks” announced Google’s CEO via a blog.
The Search battle is back on after years of it being dominated by Google. Like ChatGPT, Bard is supposed to be able to explain complex subjects, such as outer space discoveries, in terms simple enough for a child to understand.
Chatbots like ChatGPT and Bard are trained on enormous amounts of textual data. ChatGPT, for example, is driven by significant amounts of data and computing techniques to help it make predictions to put words together in a meaningful way. Bard would draw on information from the web to provide what he called “fresh, high-quality responses. Although ChatGPT is a disruptive technology, and a big threat to Google, It is likely that Google will squash its rival as it has more data to create the best content. Also, since Google chrome is the default browser for many, once Barb is integrated into Google’s search, it will continue eating the market share.
This is all exciting for the future of search and proper implementation of this disruptive ai technology can provide great benefits to brands. To learn more about the impact of ChatGPT on SEO, read our blog.
