With 800 million monthly users, TikTok is the 7th social network site in terms of size, ahead of other popular networks such as LinkedIn, Twitter, Pinterest, and Snapchat. This social media platform should get your brand’s attention. Mainly popular with young users aged [16-25] however, celebrities and companies are joining this creative platform to boost their visibility. 

TikTok came onto the scene in 2017 after Vine fizzled out, merging with Musical.ly It’s basically a short video creation/sharing platform. It’s a user-friendly content creator purely for entertainment. 

Celebrities have made the app more popular with appearances and challenges. Fans enjoy watching their favorite celebrities get silly on camera. Jimmy Fallon’s #TumbleweedChallenge created 8,000 videos with over 9 million views in seven days but what’s fascinating about Tik Tok is that you don’t need to be famous to become viral.

 The app has gained traction amongst adult users, however, 41% of users are aged 16-25 years old.  If you are a music band with young fans or sell youth clothing apparel then you should be on TikTok.
