Introducing Threads: New Text App by Meta

What is it?

Threads is a short-text social media platform that is a rival to Twitter. Basically, a Twitter, made by Instagram, made by Meta – but without the search and hashtag features (For now). Posts can be up to 500 characters long and include links, photos, and videos up to 5 minutes in length.

Why you should be on it?

  1. Easy Set-up

It’s easy to get started with Threads: simply use your Instagram account to log in. Since it’s linked to Instagram- all your bio info is populated from there, all you need to do is download the app

  1. Effortless Community Building

You can choose to follow the same accounts you do on Instagram and find more people who care about the same things you do. So you don’t need to spend time building your community as it already exists.

  1. Effective Reach in Early Days

Who doesn’t want free reach?  Since the app is in the ‘discovery phase’ any engagement will reach a much wider audience. We don’t really know the algorithm yet or how the feed suggestion works, but your engagement efforts will get noticed. According to Meta, “Our feed on Threads includes threads posted by people you follow, and recommended content from new creators you haven’t discovered yet.”

  1. No Strategy Needed

Simply connect over a conversation, share your point of view, and just have fun with it.

We will be keeping watch to see how this platform evolves but so far, at a glance, it looks like the first true rival to Twitter.
Let’s thread together, follow us on Threads.
