In a web form, the order of the fields directly influences the conversion rate. It is best to start the form with questions that visitors can fill in without having to think, such as, asking their name or date of birth. This ensures that more visitors make a start at filling in the form.

When, later on, the visitor encounters a question that takes more thought, he or she will be more likely to continue filling in the form because of the time already spent filling in the earlier questions.
