Over the past couple of weeks we took on a few large clients including one in retail, another in FMCG and a third one in retail banking. Needless to say, we’ve been doing lots of this type of work.

An important part of the optimization process (once research and mapping are complete) is the formulation of titles and meta descriptions for webpages.
Title and Meta Descriptions are what appear as the clickable link and the mini description below it when one searches on Google or other similar engines.
Formulating the perfect title and meta description can mean the difference between unbridled success and morbid failure when it comes to ranking for and converting searchers to paying customers on your site.
Follow these three tips for success:
1. Ensure you meet length requirements of title (67 characters) and meta description (156 characters). If you don’t, Google will (…) you.
2. Utilize your target and supporting keywords at least once in your title and again (with a variation) in your meta description.
3. Make sure your listing reads well and that it includes a call to action that delivers on your landing page what it promises on the Search Engines Results Page (SERP).
