Back in November we provided 5 tips to help you increase your online sales. Here are 8 more things you can do to help boost your sales and conversions..

1. Have clear contact information

Your customers would rather buy from your website if it has clear contact information. They need to know they can contact you if anything goes wrong and that you are a real person and not a fly by night operation.

2. Have a clear return policy

Give customers enough time to return the product and make it very clear how long they have. Don’t be afraid to give your customers a prolonged period of time to return the product. If your product is as good as you say it is, you will not have a problem.

3. Avoid the small print

Be upfront and put everything on the table. Do not try to cheat or trick your customers in any way. Make the price very clear to the customer so there can be no misunderstandings.

4. Add reviews and comments

Allow people to add comments and reviews of your product and/or service. If you have a great product and exemplary service, people will be more than happy to leave a kind word on your site; this will encourage others to buy from your site as well.

5. Communicate with your customers, fans and followers

Don’t hide behind your website. Use social media to connect with possible customers and subscribers. You need to give something to the community before you can expect to get anything in return.

6. Have safe payment options

Implementing safe payment options. This will reflect positively on your sales. Let people pay through trusted payment platforms such as PayPal or Google Checkout.

7. Send your customers a receipt

Always send your customers an electronic receipt to their registered e-mail address. This will give them peace of mind. They also have the right to have some sort of written proof of the purchase.

8. Write intriguing product descriptions

Make people interested from the moment they land on your page. Be very clear in what your product can do for them and why they need to have it. Mention the problems they may have and how this product can solve them and make their lives easier. Try to sound real and avoid sounding like an eager salesman. Use copy that connects with your customers’ emotional and logical parts of the brain and show your human and trustworthy side.
